Absolutely horrendous! We expect everything from our armed forces, and in return they get hounded, vilified and criminalised.

How can a judge know the full extent of the risks the soldiers faced? How can they make that judgement 30 years later.

Just wrong.

On the face of it, the coroner can say what they like, but if the Police do not recommend NO further action and not in the public interest, then there is no hope for UK security. All credibility will be lost and that includes nearly 100 years of our SAS being the final backstop.

The only issue is that this will be a prelude to ordering the investigation to be reopened and prosecutions brought to the veterans

Clearly, that Judge has never faced having to make a split-second decision whilst facing potential death! The matter should be decided by a jury of 12 ex-Forces veterans who have seen “active service with armed conflict” and survived!

An absurd decision on the facts and disgraceful for any coroner to have accepted an analysis of events that are 30+ years old. Given the IRA men’s age, fanaticism and obvious appetite for gangland-style violence, you would have to think that a great many innocent lives were saved as a result.

I think the use of force was justified.

The hardest campaign medal I have was gained in Northern Ireland… The biggest murderers of Catholics in NI (and in fact of all those killed and maimed) was by…. The PIRA (Provisional IRA - led by Martin McGuiness and Jerry Adams (allegedly) ). McGuiness used to boast in America that he fired the first shot that kicked off “Bloody Sunday”.

The whole concept of “legacy investigations” is biased against the Army, not surprising on who is currently controlling Stormont and their little poodle in Downing Street.

The reopened inquest into the Guilford pub bombings, the coroner has been specifically told NOT to investigate who was responsible for the bombing.. negating the entire purpose of reopening the inquest in the first place. We know WHAT the victims were killed or maimed by, it’s the WHO was responsible that needs to be found. The same with the Birmingham pub bombings…

Only absolute idiots would say that they should have given a warning against terrorists armed with AK47’s and a DShK. Only an even bigger idiot promises to repeal the laws protecting our veterans from prosecution…

There’s never been justice for soldiers serving in NI. Not one of those murdering bastards is in jail.

No one here mentioned that the British fired over 500 rounds in that car park... and the IRA...? Zero!! Not a single shot. Also, three of the four were shot in the back trying to get away.

The coroner needs killing.

In war you kill the enemy.

The coroner is an enemy combatant.

What is his name and address ?
