A weak man appeasing a deeply unpleasant government headed up by a deeply unpleasant premier with links to deeply unpleasant auxilliaries, namely the IRA and Sinn Fein, is nauseating.

I would never ever have believed that in my lifetime, which started as a British Army Brat and continues into my 83rd year a very angry British Army Veteran, that I’d read a headline such as this … "Labour's lawfare has broken British army morale".

It heads an article in the Spectator dated 14 March 2026. The author goes on to report..."In the fortnight since America and Israel launched their attack on Iran, much has been said and written about the respective merits of France’s and Britain’s military. A headline in this week’s Daily Telegraph ... asked: ‘Britain spends billions more than France on defence, so why is the French military superior?"

The answer it seems lies in the final two paragraphs of the story: "There have been allegations of civilian deaths levelled at French soldiers serving in Africa in the last decade, accusations that stemmed from war’s moral disorder. It was the word of insurgents against the word of French soldiers. In such cases France – to paraphrase Emmanuel Macron – always stands with its soldiers.

The French special forces soldier told me that ‘in a democracy such as France, soldiers accept to risk their lives’. In exchange, he said, the state has a moral obligation ‘to protect them in the event of accusations related to the performance of their duties. This moral contract is at the heart of military loyalty and discipline.’

Keir Starmer’s government has broken this contract, and in doing so it has broken the morale of the British military." ... 🤨

One can only hope that the next government in Westminster not only repeals this corrupt process, but also brings those who created this corrupt and deeply immoral process to face justice and finally account for their actions

Forgotten in all this are the human rights of all those families who were spared death and injury at the hands of the IRA because of the actions of the brave servicemen. Judas Escariot is reborn.

Starmer, Hillary Ben, Hermer all.hate the British military and its veterans. The veterans need to back the boycott of the senitor this year's remembrance day. They need to also boycott the Invictus Games. It is no longer about the veterans it all about PR for a number of people. Harry and Meghan. Shabana Mahmood, Keir Starmer. £26 million would help.many veterans at home and on the streets.

Further to my earlier comments,we need to look at starmers history, his failures while he was in charge of the C.P.S, the chagos deal, net zero fiascoe, the insidious legacy act, failure to back america over Iran, Gibraltar, the list goes on, HIstory will remember him as a quisling who sold out this once great nation for personal gain through the occupation of illegal migrants and the Muslim vote, also as leader of the coalition of the witless , also a great article by garside mike yours Eric WIlson

When this quisling starmer became prime minister he promised to serve king and country,he has done neither. He has done everything in his power to destroy the moral fibre of those who served and protected this country through Thier military careers but has also destroyed the economy through his obsession to get back into the EU.He needs bringing to justice, investigating for his communist ideologies, and finally being held to account for his actions. The last few weeks how he has provaracated over his actions with regards to the Iran war and his so called protection of the British people, tell that to the expats in Cyprus and the gulf states, and those military personnel he has u,turns on and commited them to action, he has no moral backbone and shown just what a quisling he is,The only thing wrong with this once proud nation is that we have a yellowbelly, glass back, leader who has failed us by not killing this insidious bill, and it's time for him to go and give someone who will represent this country and put it's people first. And there is absolutely nothing we can do to prevent this going ahead.

WHAT ABOUT THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF THOSE WHO WERE KILLED OR ENDURED PUNISHMENT SHOOTINGS BY REPULICAN AND LOYALIST TERRIORTS?

DAVID's avatar

How can you use human rights law for incidents that happened years ago, when humans rights law was not around. As always governments send armed forces into war zones then hang em out to dry after it's over leaving families without loved ones and are expendables for the here and now

These Twats want hanging, they're traitors,!! The Human Rights Act wants scrapping in in its current form. It has been "tailored" to work for terrorist killers, and criminals who have committed crimes against humanity! Therefore, they have no rights! It's got nothing to do with veterans or soldiers of the King! This "Charade" will end in tears for the this treacherous and repressive government! Those of us who've signed The Official Secrets Act. "SIR, I Cannot Answer That Question❓ About the Unit I served with, Where and When operations took place and who was involved! These secrets are locked away inside us, and are not for public or general discussion!!!" "NAME, RANK AND NUMBER!"
