This week’s reporting shows the pattern is unchanged: Britain sends men to fight, then leaves them to face the courts when the law, politics and hindsight move on.
People in government have no idea of what armed forces personnel go through, look at 1st world war shell shock which we now call PTSD. Soldiers were shot for desertion but they suffered mental health issues because no one understood what was happening to them. The USA civil war in 1860's showed bloodbath of the future with machine guns and cannons aimed at soldiers walking towards them. Today Tony Blair is seen as a war criminal for going to war with false information substandard military equipment which lead to more casualties.
It might just occur to todays government and judges and previous governments and legal decisions that lawfare may in due course be turned on to them as individuals or collectively. They might want to consider their own position before they burn all of their boats...
I wonder if what has and continues to emerge of the Op Banner repercussions is why Starmer explicitly refused to commit to supporting the USA’s conflict against Iran.
It's against a Muslim country and how many of pro Palastine marchers were protesting outside Iranian embassy when anti government protesters were being killed?
Here we go again folks! Yet again we strengthen our "Battle Lines" against the "Inglorious Bastards" in Government and the Judiciary! "Our Hunting grounds" have been invaded by incompetent civilians who in most cases, have never experienced the fear, and confusion of a battlefield environment! Op Banner was just another operation where soldiers of All Units did an amazing job of keeping control of the IRA/PIRA. And preventing a surge of killings and bombings within the bounds of the Military code of ethics and conduct. Prisoners were taken where possible, but some we're not! Every operational scenario is different, and demands a millisecond decision when confronted by a life-threatening situation! This is how it is! Mr Starmer you're still failing us, Why! The most senior ranks in our military; Generals, Brigadiers, Colonels and the rank and file of our Military Establishment, serving and retired, have pointed out the inconsistent thread that runs through this ludicrous policy. It leaves veterans and soldiers unprotected from your unlawful harassment. Put it right! And get it done! Or bear the Consequences?
Who has Starmer and Hermer now that Northern Ireland has 3 bomb attacks. To.on Sien Fien politicians one of a police station and there is to be more. Just think the knowledge we veterans have on Northern Ireland. The government have lost. When you go for one you go for all.

An excellent interpretation of events if I may say so.
The PM is also up to his neck in it; see article. The government has no moral authority to order the deployment of troops on combat or peacekeeping operations. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/04/24/hermer-hailed-starmers-groundbreaking-work-suing-soldiers/
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!
