CALENDAR
WHAT: Boots needed on the ground
WHEN: Wednesday 21st January at 12:00
Late notice was given that the Government changed the date for the vote on the Remedial Order to Wednesday 21st Jan (originally Tuesday).
As a result, protests and (optional) attendance had to be moved to the Commons Gallery. Please make your way there any way you can, as we need to show the press and the government we are still here and against selling Veterans down the river.
On Wednesday, 21st January, the Labour Government will be voting on the Remedial Order to repeal parts of the Northern Ireland Legacy Bill. This order is based on so-called “incompatibilities” in respect of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) as ruled by the High Court in Northern Ireland. This is the ruling that the veterans challenged in the Supreme Court in 2025 and is awaiting judgment.
The Op Justice committee and many others firmly believe that the Government is trying to put this through both Houses BEFORE the judgement is published, and are calling on as many Veterans as possible to arrive between 1200-1300 on that day and attend a foot protest in Parliament Square.
Veterans will then occupy seats in the gallery of the Chamber as the RO is debated and voted upon by the Commons.
This protest is more about boots on the ground and bums in seats rather than having the usual ‘bike-based protests, so travel to central London by whatever means is best for you.
Please wear Berets, medals, “cuts” etc as they make our presence more obvious - especially in the Gallery.
ALL footsoldiers, riders and supporters are welcome!
