This government stinks, Reform will treat veterans properly sooner than you think.

Betrayed by the Brass and the Politicians. Eighty days on, and still no closure, no justice, no respect. The MOD and Northern Ireland Office can wrap their platitudes in Union Jacks, but those who served aren’t fooled. A letter here, a soundbite there — all smoke and mirrors while the truth is quietly buried in some Whitehall drawer marked “Too Difficult.”

The so-called “protections” for veterans are a sham. Words like “closure” and “reconciliation” are wheeled out by ministers who’ve never worn a uniform or faced a terrorist’s bullet. Meanwhile, those who stood between chaos and order are left exposed to endless investigations, while the real perpetrators of violence are long shielded by political deals and selective amnesia.

The Government talks tough on patriotism but acts soft on those who kept the peace. The latest “Veterans Minister” sneered that servicemen were “naïve” — proof, if any were needed, that Westminster has lost its moral compass. Supposing naively it ever had one.

This isn’t closure. It’s betrayal — dressed up in bureaucracy and spin. Veterans aren’t asking for medals or parades. They’re asking for fairness, loyalty and truth. Instead, they get delay, deceit and the slow erasure of everything they fought for. Words are cheap — and Whitehall’s are worthless.
