Backdoor tactics, but don't call Benn cynical
There has been no debate outcome as promised and it looks like one won't be coming.
The other day, Hilary Benn in the Commons said no one could call him cynical. He was then twice accused of being so.
Little wonder when you consider the shoddy way in which the Government has withheld information, released plans to the media during recess, and deliberately misled the public about its reasons and plans.
In yet another example, every day since the debate prompted by overwhelming public support took place, the Parliament website noted how long had passed without a debate outcome being published.
Now the Petition website has been changed with no mention of a debate outcome.
It does, however, maintain the fiction of the Legacy Act being “unlawful”.
Hard to deliver a debate outcome when you clearly lost the argument.
But always easy to spot BS.
